Text Box: What is a File Folder Game?
Text Box: A file folder games is an educational tool, that can be used to teach basic skills like colors, shapes, numbers and letters. They are easy to make, inexpensive, fun to use, and can be easily stored in a file cabinet or file folder box. Teacher’s can use these folder games for “take it to your seat” activities to be used one on one, or they can also be used in a group setting.

Text Box: Assembly instructions:
Text Box: First thing you do is open the File Folder Game Ebook in your acrobat reader. Next decide which pieces you are going to have on the folder (game board) and which you are going to use as game pieces. Print the game board pieces on copy paper. Glue the game label to the front of the folder, and then glue the board pieces to the inside of the folder.

If you would like to build the preschoolers confidence you can place the pieces in order such as 1 2 3 or ABC, etc. If you would like to make the games a little more challenging glue the pieces out of order.

Now you are finished with the front and inside of the game. Next print the game pieces (the remaining pages )on cardstock for extra durability. You could either use contact paper, or a laminator to make the games more durable. If you don’t have a laminator contact paper works just fine. You can also just use clear shipping tape over the pieces on the folder to make them adhere better.

Velcro is also an option when it comes to assembling the games. You can place a piece on the game board and a piece on the game piece to make the pieces stick to the board. I like this option when using the games in the car on long trips. If you don’t have a laminator that can laminate a file folder you can easily use 2 pieces of heavy cardstock for the folder, laminate, and use a binding comb system to make a book type game.

For game piece storage either use a Ziploc sandwich bag on the back of the folder or you could also use a clasp envelope secured with permanent double face tape.

Finally.. Enjoy watching your little ones play these games. These games show children at a young age that LEARNING CAN BE FUN!!!
